BIVDA welcomed over 100 members and guests to our Annual General Meeting at One Great George Street in London last week.
We extend our sincere thanks to all who attended and contributed to what was a memorable occasion. The day provided an opportunity to reflect on BIVDA’s achievements over the past year, review our current strategy and future ambitions, and hear valuable insights from senior NHS leaders.
We were delighted to welcome Dr Penny Dash, Chair of NHS England, as our keynote speaker. Dr Dash highlighted the pace and scale of change currently underway within the NHS, emphasising that the slow adoption of innovation is not due to a lack of quality, but rather the result of systems that are not designed to support it effectively.
We also welcomed Mike Bell, Chair of the North Central London and North West London Integrated Care Boards. He spoke about the importance of long-term thinking within the NHS to drive efficiency and sustainability, while creating the flexibility needed to support innovation. Without this, he cautioned, the health service risks falling short of meeting future patient needs.
As the NHS navigates a period of significant transformation alongside an unstable political landscape for companies, BIVDA remains committed to strong advocacy for the UK IVD sector across this year. We look forward to sharing further updates with you at this time in 2027.
