BIVDA was pleased to participate in the UK–India Medical Devices and MedTech Roundtable held at the House of Lords. The event was organised by the Indo-British Business Forum and hosted by Baroness Sandy Verma, bringing together industry leaders to discuss the future of medtech collaboration between the two nations. BIVDA Treasurer Jag Grewal (pictured) attended on behalf of the organisation.
The roundtable focused on the opportunities emerging from the newly developed UK–India trade agreement, with particular attention to how both countries can strengthen partnerships, accelerate innovation and expand market access in the medical technologies sector.
It was encouraging to see several BIVDA member companies represented, underlining the strong interest from the diagnostics industry. The discussion was further supported by Health Minister Dr Zubir Ahmed MP who emphasised the critical role that life sciences and diagnostics play in the UK economy.
BIVDA recognises the significant potential for diagnostics companies to grow, collaborate and deliver new technologies that improve patient outcomes in both countries. Strengthened UK–India cooperation stands to benefit not only the medtech ecosystem but also the public health impact it delivers.
BIVDA looks forward to continuing to support members as these international opportunities evolve and to championing diagnostics innovation on the global stage.
