On 18 July, BIVDA and MHRA met for our latest one-on-one meeting. The aim of these meetings is to ensure our relationship remains strong and we are able to collaborate on projects key to the IVD sector. The discussions are in addition to our usual day-to-day work with MHRA, specifically involving MHRA’s senior and executive staff.

MHRA recently published their corporate plan for 2023-2016. Many of the objectives within this plan align to BIVDA’s priorities for the coming years including promoting transparency, shaping the future regulatory framework to be suitable for the UK market, educating on key topics to the sector, and contributing to key partnerships.

There are a number of areas where MHRA and BIVDA are keen to work together for the IVD sector, and it is clear that BIVDA are seen as an essential stakeholder in these work programmes.

This meeting was helpful to reestablish the roles of both organisations and identify a path for our continued collaboration. We will keep the membership updated and will aim to involve you wherever possible.
