Beth attends the Healthcare Supplies Association Conference (HCSA)

By November 19, 2024No Comments

Beth Loudon, Head of Market Access for BIVDA, attended the Health Care Suppliers Association conference at the Telford International Conference Centre last week.

Keynote speakers included Jacqui Rock, Commercial Director for NHSE, who confirmed she would be leaving the role at the end of December. Jacqui was unable to advise where she would be moving to but confirmed would be remaining in the ‘Global Healthcare Market’. There is no news of her potential replacement.

We also heard from Stuart Nelson who recently joined DHSC as Chief Commercial Officer from the Morrison’s supermarket chain. Stuart outlined his accountabilities and priorities which included working with the private sector, specifically the medicines and life sciences sectors to identify opportunities for improving commercial relationship with a view to supporting the priorities of the NHS Plan.

A legal update was provided which presumed that the Procurement Act 2023 is still planned to launch in February 2025. Further delay is not anticipated but isn’t out of the question.

Beth was able to connect with procurement leaders across the NHS and discuss the priorities for BIVDA – including Net Zero requirements, managed service contracts, and market access for SMEs.
