BIVDA member, CPI, the leading technology innovation centre, and the Office for Life Sciences have designed the MedTech Accelerator: Rapid Regulatory Support programme, funded by UK Government, to help start-ups and SMEs accelerate the development of new, safe and effective devices, or keep critical devices available to patients.
The programme will support SMEs that rely on external expertise to commercialise new products or re-register existing products in line with new regulatory requirements.
SMEs working in MedTech can apply for up to £30,000 of funding for use with regulatory affairs providers to help with navigating regulatory pathways. A total of £4.2 million is available to support up to 140 companies.
With the need for urgent support, and to reduce the time taken to review applications, this six-month programme has been accelerated and therefore only the first 300 applications will be accepted for consideration. SMEs are therefore urged to submit applications as soon as possible.
Applications open from 9am on 9 October 2024 with decisions announced by 29 November 2024.
