Dr Sam Roberts, Chief Executive of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, will be stepping down at the end of the year following four successful years in the role, in order to support her children through a difficult time.
Notable achievements during her tenure include the implementation of a rapid evaluation process for emergent technology, resulting in a 30-fold increase in the number of digital and AI technologies assessed for use in the NHS.
We would like to thank Sam for her service to NICE, particularly pivoting the organisation further towards MedTech. This has benefitted our sector and should have an even more far-reaching effect as the NHS 10-Year Plan is realised in future.
