MP for West Lancashire Ashley Dalton has been appointed as a health minister following the departure of Andrew Gwynne MP.
Ms Dalton’s brief covers public health and prevention, including responsibility for AMR, and is therefore greatly important to BIVDA’s work.
Ms Dalton has served as a parliamentary private secretary to Wes Streeting since the general election last July.
Before entering Parliament, Ms Dalton worked for Southend-on-Sea Council for 17 years, and at the time of her selection she worked part-time for a Lancashire charity. She has personal experience of cancer, having survived breast cancer and lost her ex-husband to kidney cancer.
We have written to the new minister and hope to meet her in due course.
