The Government have launched a ‘national conversation’ to shape the future of the NHS, aimed at the public, experts and those working in the health service.
The Government’s ten-year plan to fix the NHS will likely be released in the middle of next year and the response to this consultation will heavily dictate its objectives.
The Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, has already trailed the Government’s proposed approach to health reform by outlining their three pillars: moving from analogue to digital, from hospital to community, and to prevention from passively treating the sick.
For example, this week Mr Streeting announced plans to make the NHS App more functional for patients and is exploring the use of wearable tech for patients with diabetes or high blood pressure to monitor their own conditions.
Feedback can be provided through the Change NHS online platform, which will be live until the start of next year, and is available via the NHS App.
BIVDA will respond on behalf of the IVD industry and we will be in touch for member feedback.
