Lord Darzi’s much-anticipated report into the performance of the NHS is set to be released on Thursday.
It is expected that the report will claim that the health service in England has seen severe underinvestment in infrastructure compared to similar nations, which has worsened backlogs and prevented the required level of modernisation.
Factors include NHS reforms led by the now Lord Lansley, the effects of austerity and the COVID-19 pandemic.
The report will find that routine healthcare activity fell to a greater degree in many key areas in the UK compared to other health systems.
We look forward to welcoming Lord Darzi to our Parliamentary Reception on 30 October where he will discuss his report, with a particular focus on its diagnostics findings.
