The Persistent Organic Pollutants (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2023 was laid before the UK Parliament by the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in exercise of powers under Articles 15(1) and 18(1) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 of the European Parliament and of the Council on persistent organic pollutants (recast) (“the POPs Regulation”) on 16 October 2023.
This SI has come into force on 16 November, extending to England, Scotland and Wales (NI, being under EU POP Regulation). This SI amends the POP Regulation to the add restriction of Perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS) substances.
