Dear members, The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging and Packaging Waste) Regulations 2024 has been published 16th December 2024. Medical Device Packaging including IVDs is in scope for device where packaging waste is going to end up in household waste i.e. self-test IVDs. The legislation replaces the previous packaging and packaging waste regulations and associated compliance schemes.
The new legislation includes notification and record keeping obligations, as well as fess charged for packaging placed on the market.
