The newly introduced EU ECO Design requirements for the Northern Ireland Market may impact IVDs as it has smartphones and tablets in scope. It requires that devices have specific design requirements, including reliability, repairability, and recyclability etc.
These Regulations amend the Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products Regulations 2010 (S.I. 2010/2617) (“the 2010 Regulations”) and the Energy Information Regulation (S.I. 2011/1524) (“the 2011 Regulations”) in order to implement the Windsor Framework.
