With growing concerns about energy use and wasted resources, the European Union has put a new regulation in place to tackle the environmental impact of short product lifespans and limited repair options.
The Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation (ESPR), officially published on June 28, 2024, and effective as of July 18, 2024, significantly expands the scope of sustainable product standards in the EU. By building on the Ecodesign Directive, the ESPR now applies to all products, including components and intermediate parts, with a focus on energy efficiency, circularity and long-term repairability.
Join our webinar for a look into how this regulation will redefine product design and what it means for businesses navigating these new requirements.
