The European Parliament have formally adopted the provisional political agreement on the revision of the F-Gas Regulation, which was agreed on by Parliament and the Council during their final trialogue meeting on 5 October 2023. The adopted text can be found here. This adoption corresponds with what was agreed upon with the Council last year. There have been minor updates related to numbering of articles and recitals. These changes were done by legal linguists from both the Council and Parliament to provide more consistency and clarity in the legal text but did not change the meaning of the articles and the provisions laid down therein.
Following the Parliament’s agreement, the Council is scheduled to formally adopt the text during a meeting on 29 January 2024. As a last step, the act will then be published in EU’s Official Journal.
