MedTech Europe have submitted a letter with recommendations for the Pack 27 RoHS lead exemptions to the consultant running the consultations, as well as DG Environment on 11 December. MedTech Europe continues to advocate EU RoHS Exemption pack 27 regarding uses of Lead in Electronic and electrical equipment.
Information on GB RoHS:
According to the UK RoHS Schedule, a number of exemption packs are no longer available to members regarding the GB market. Due to lack of GB specific applications a large number of exemptions were not renewed for IVD uses (highlighted in RED), a number are still awaiting the EU decision (under transitional arrangements – highlighted in Green) and are reliant on the Exemption Pack 27 mentioned above. And one entry (90 on the schedule highlighted in yellow, and extract below) is due to expire in 31st December 2025, and would require a GB specific application for exemption pack renewal or it will expire.
