ECHA has published their latest weekly update (28 February).
Due to changes in the structure of ECHA’s updates, we can no longer provide a link to the updates themselves. To ensure BIVDA members continue to receive this information, we have opted to provide the full ECHA notification.

REACH
Over 20 percent of REACH registration dossiers checked for compliance
Since 2009, we have evaluated nearly 15 000 registrations. The checks ensure that companies provide reliable information on the hazards of chemicals to support chemical safety in the European Union.
CLP
Ad hoc consultation on harmonised classification and labelling
We have launched an ad hoc consultation on the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) of:
clethodim (ISO); (5RS)-2-{(1EZ)-1-[(2E)-3-chloroallyloxyimino]propyl}-5-[(2RS)-2-(ethylthio)propyl]-3-hydroxycyclohex-2-en-1-one (EC -, CAS 99129-21-2)
The proposal was submitted by Sweden and was subject to a consultation which ended on 9 February 2024.
During the last 16 days of that consultation, our website contained an incorrect CLH report. Therefore, interested parties are now given additional three weeks to submit their comments. Have your say through the webform until 19 March 2024. The comments will be published on ECHA’s website.
Biocides
Consultation on derogation to the exclusion criteria
We are looking for comments on whether the conditions for derogation are met for:
- Cholecalciferol (EC 200-673-2, CAS 67-97-0) for product-type 14.
Active substances that meet the exclusion criteria can only be approved or renewed if they meet one or more of the following derogation criteria:
- exposure is negligible;
- the active substance is essential to prevent a serious danger to human or animal health, or the environment; or
- not approving the substance would have a disproportionate negative impact on society when compared to the risks.
Have your say until 31 March 2024.
