ECHA weekly update (WC 20 Nov)

ECHA has published their latest weekly update (22 November).

One in three checked biocidal products found to be non-compliant

EU-wide enforcement project found about 60 active substances in biocidal products that are not allowed on the EU, EEA and Swiss markets. One in three of the checked products did not comply with at least one of the checked legal requirements.

New substance evaluation conclusion published for CoRAP substance

We are looking for comments on harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) proposals for:

• ethylene bis[3,3-bis(3-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)butyrate] (EC 251-073-2, CAS 32509-66-3)
• tebuconazole (ISO); 1-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-3-(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)pentan-3-ol (EC 403-640-2, CAS 107534-96-3)
• methyl isothiocyanate (EC 209-132-5, CAS 556-61-6)
  Methyl isothiocyanate has uses under the REACH Regulation, but is also a metabolite to active substances metam-sodium (ISO) and metam-potassium (ISO) under the Plant Protection Products Regulation, for which there is a parallel consultation ongoing on the European Food Safety Authority’s website.
• metam-sodium (ISO); sodium methyldithiocarbamate [1]; metam-potassium (ISO); potassium methyldithiocarbamate [2] (EC 205-293-0 [1]; 205-292-5 [2], CAS 137-42-8 [1]; 137-41-7 [2])The proposal format combines the draft (renewal) assessment report prepared according to the Plant Protection Products Regulation and the proposal for CLH under the CLP Regulation. New intention and proposals to harmonise classification and labelling

One intention has been received for:

• 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-p-cresol (EC 219-470-5, CAS 2440-22-4).

Two proposals have been submitted for:

• 8-methyldecan-2-yl propionate; 8-methyldecan-2-yl propanoate (EC -, CAS 81931-28-4)
• beflubutamid (ISO); N-benzyl-2-[4-fluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy]butanamide; (RS)-N-benzyl-2-(α,α,α,4-tetrafluoro-m-tolyoxy)butyramide (EC 601-267-1, CAS 113614-08-7)
