There are two EMs regarding changes to EU legislation, one for RoHS and one for Reach, that will apply in NI, but need to follow up on whether there is an intention to also apply in GB.
RoHS is an exemption extension, if not adopted, it would mean that certain CE marked products containing LEDs could not be placed on the GB market. The REACH revision is the microplastics revision, where MTE achieved a specific derogation for IVDs.
The statement seems to assume a general voluntary phase out of use of microplastics, but that is not the case for the IVD sector, instead waste emission containment is the preferred option. There is a risk that GB will not include the IVD specific derogation.
