Dear members, please see the below consultation. DEFRA and HM Government are currently renegotiating the Sanitary and Phytosanitary border requirements impacting imports and exports between the UK and the EU, and this also impacts shipments between GB and Northern Ireland. This impacts the sector as it effects shipments that contain Animal By-products and may also impact the UK Biocidal products regulation effecting preservatives and disinfectants as well, but mainly those used with animals and plant practices.
I’m unable to share the questions, because DEFRA have chosen a dynamic survey that triggers different sections dependent on how you answer the previous sections.
The government are looking to align requirements e.g. veterinary checks to reduce administrative burden when shipping products subject to Sanitary/Phytosanitary checks.
However, if you would like to let me have any feedback you wish to share from your own responses to the survey please send this to me at regulatory@bivda.org.uk.
