The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee has launched an inquiry into Financing and Scaling UK Science and Technology: Innovation, Investment, Industry. Submissions are welcome until 23:59, Friday, 9 May 2025.
The Committee is keen to explore strategic questions around the UK’s science and technology priorities; and the role of public sector investment, private sector investment, and governmental policy levers to help scale-up companies and translate basic research into applications that benefit the UK’s public services, society, and economy.
They want to hear what the fundamental problems are in this area, including your supporting evidence and any policy solutions you may have (including if they have been implemented and worked in other areas).
You can read the rules for submission here and submit your evidence here.
Please note, members do not have to address all of the questions outlined in the call for evidence. Instead, the report will focus on the best supported analyses and proposals.
