BIVDA was pleased to host the Department of Business and Trade (DBT) and Office for Life Sciences (OLS) last week as they presented on what the UK-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) means for life sciences companies.
Set to take effect in early July, the FTA will open up UK businesses to £38bn in Indian public procurement. Of particular interest to our sector is the opportunity to feed into development of the AMR National Action Plan in India and take part in a Diagnostics Mission to India in October 2026.
DBT have confirmed they will keep us updated regarding input into the development of the plan, including offering innovative diagnostic solutions to AMR. We are also set to receive more information regarding the Diagnostics Mission shortly and will inform members once it is formalised.
